Happy Gardening!!

I always hear people say Gardening is fun. I did not realize when we had some plants in my home back in India, because, I neither watered any plants nor even tried to noticed how it grows. But one thing for sure is I have enjoyed a lot from the plants like mehendi leaves, coconut water, bananas and some beautiful flowers.

I have been wondering looking at the scenic landscape here in the USA from the day I landed here. Actually, in my opinion, what makes this country so beautiful is the trees, the greeneries they take care of. Friends here, always invite us to enjoy the spring and fall colors. The plants and trees look beautifully amazing during the spring and the fall just like the wallpaper scenery.

I wanted to do home gardening from a long time. I really wanted to see how the plant grows and wanted to spare some time with mother nature. So, I took some Yogurt containers and plastic trays, filled them with the garden soil and compost. I sowed some coriander seeds, mint, tomato seeds, methi on each trays. I patiently waited for some days and it all started sprouting. The coriander took seven days to form two leaves, and a new leaf forms once in two days. It is really so beautiful to monitor the plants growth just like my own kids :). It is so much fun.

I personally feel that I am much more relaxed when I see my potted plants. Also, they can be used for cooking as well. I encourage everyone to grow plants at home and enjoy the gardening.

Happy Gardening!!

My wedding Ceremony

-->
14 August 2010, I felt that major transition is going to happen in my life. My identity as Priya Eswara Rao started diminishing and I ensured myself to be a part of Katare’s family. My home was filled with guests , gifts, and lot of things to be carried to mandapam. At 7.30 a.m, my hubby with few of his relatives visited my home for a pooja.
At that time only most of my relatives got chance to see him,(including me :))
As soon as he left for the mandapam, I had to get ready for the engagement ceremony.
As usual with “aarthi” and a warm welcome I reached the mandapam. I was happy to see
many of my friends and relatives were already waiting for me.
Then started the engagement ceremony. Myself and my hubby were asked to exchange the rings, sweets (my hubby ate the sweet given to him instead of feeding me :(), garlands. Elders were doing some rituals and I felt some unusual things happening for fun.
Generally in Marathi marriages,on all occasions related to marriage,”BhetBhettee” event will be there where the parents and relatives of the bride and groom’s side exchange sweets ,sindoor, and garland(but only men) ,but in my marriage, even the ladies and kids of both the sides started performing the show . Then after having breakfast , we the bride’s side had to do “Sumangali Pooja “ at the mandapam, with some more rituals covering with yellow colour cloth around the head. Then At 5 pm one more programme called “Lagna patrika” whereby a final confirmation of marriage will be announced by the priest before the actual marriage.
At 7 pm the actual comedy started, I was dressed in gagra choli(for the first time in life)
(also tuff to handle),my hubby with sherwani and pagdi ,looked as a pakka desi marriage got ready for the chariot ride, I felt embarrasing to go for the chariot ride as it is my area and felt shame to face everybody. Due to compulsion of elders we had to go for a ride.
I really felt pity on the horses which was carrying us(romba paavam),But wat to do?
Sometimes situation forces.
At 8.30 we returned from chariot ride, and again had to dress up to stand in the stage for reception . That was the good time as I could see many people who came for my marriage especially my friends (from my childhood friends to colleagues).
After the reception ended at 10.30 ,we had one more programme called “Gonthal” .
At midnight 12’o clock it started with plates full of green colour bangles, and some elders made me wear all the bangles until my hand is invisible and it continued till 2 a.m.

15 August 2010, “My tryst with destiny” day for me and my hubby.
we still argue that who got caught? :)(ofcourse both), I woke up at 4 a.m(slept for 2 hrs only :() dressed in yellow colour saree and a garland dress where they tried to hide me as much they can with their efforts for the muhurtham to be held between 7.30 a.m and 9 a.m . Elders only dressed me n took me to stage as nothing was visible to me,(even my hubby), covered with flowers and jewels it was really tough to manage. Everyone holded me as I was standing in “AMMI “(rock stone used to grind) and my hubby was standing in a Banyan basket. As usual again with all sorts of rituals ,the priest asked us do many things, the priest was giving something to me and I was placing my hand somewhere else due to invisibility. All our relatives were holding us until he tied the 3 knots( else we would have fallen for sure without any concrete support).
With “Agni” as proof, me standing in AMMI, I joined as a member in katare’s family.
(Actually got caught :),losing the real freedom on d eve of independence )
After all the photo sessions got over, with a good lunch, I had to start to my in-laws place.I tried to control myself the maximum not to cry, but am also a poor fellow on earth bounded with emotions , I cried looking my family members were waving their hands
for me the first time in life, I was feeling like they were sending me off to some place permanently, almost felt like detached from the family and was feeling bad for leaving my parents alone. But then felt like “Change is inevitable”.
Now its new place, new people, everything seems to be new in life.
Accepting everything, the marriage life journey is continuing successfully...
Note: Today is the 50th(golden jubilee) day since we got hitched.

REWIND UR DAYS...

Gone are the GREENY days...
When the school reopened in June,
And we settled in our new desks and benches.
When we queued up in book depot,
And got our new books and notes.
When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays,
yet Managed to line up daily for the morning prayers.
We learnt writing with slates and pencils, and Progressed
To fountain pens and ball pens and then micro tips.
We began drawing with crayons and evolved to Colour pencils and finally sketch pens.
We started calculating first with tables and then with Clarke's tables
and advanced to calculators and computers.
When we chased one another in the corridors in Intervals,
and returned to the classrooms drenched in sweat.
When we had lunch in classrooms, corridors, Playgrounds,
under the trees and even in cycle shed.
When all the colors in the world,
Decorated the campus on the Second Saturdays.
When a single P.T. period in the week's Time Table,
Was awaited more eagerly than the monsoons.
When cricket was played with writing pads as bats,
And Neckties and socks rolled into balls.
When few played "kabadi" and "Kho-Kho" in scorching sun,
While others simply played "book cricket" in the confines of classroom.
Of fights but no conspiracies, Of Competitions but seldom jealousy.
When we used to watch Live Cricket telecast,
In the opposite house in Intervals and Lunch breaks.
When few rushed at 1:45 to "Conquer" window seats in our School bus.
While few others had "Big Fun", "Chock-o-bar","kulfi ice" and "Pepsi" at 2:00 Clock.
Gone are the days Of Sports Day, and the annual School Day,
And the one-month long preparations for them.
Gone are the days of the stressful Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual Exams, and the most enjoyed holidays after them.
Of tenth and twelfth standards, when we spent almost the whole year writing revision tests.
We learnt, we enjoyed, we played, we won, and we lost, We laughed, we cried, we fought, we thought.
With so much fun in them, so many friends, So much experience, all this and more.

Injuring INFLATION

INFLATION- it has become threatening issue now a days

Everywhere there is a raise in price ..
Rich people can afford, but what the poor can do?
Even the middle class can manage somehow...(though it is tuff only).
Right from safety pin to sophisticated cars the price has shoot up .

How to stop or saturate this inflation level?

Management professionals say" it s scathe to the country if the inflation rate cross 10%., but the tv channels show that the current rate fluctuates from 10-13%.
Everyone can reason that inflation has occurred due to so many reasons like"

1.the slow down in US market

2.insufficient resources

3.overpopulation

Aah! it occurred .!!
Now v can only think about how to saturate it?
What can b done to stop it?
Who s going to elicit the solution? THE GOVT? never!!!
Becoz the govt even raised the ticket prices (in name of delux buses).
Actually who wants such delux or air conditioned buses? .
If the basic needs of human is hard to get, then how can v survive?

Later if some suicidal attempts occur somewhere due to inflation, the govt 'll arrange for "kanji thotti " to fee d the poor across villages.
Survival has become tougher now a days..

"Rich getting richer n poor becoming poorer".

If this inflation rate increase n prevails, then the rich 'll also become poor one day.
